Dead Sea Salt Bathing
Dead Sea salt contains 21 minerals including magnesium, potassium, calcium and bromine that are not found in other sea salt. Dead Sea salt contains 10 times the mineral content of normal sea water and yet approximately 1/3 the amount of sodium. The low sodium content of this salt makes Dead Sea salt a gentle salt for bathing.
Bathing with Dead Sea salt in the proper solution is highly effective for deep relaxation, elimination of toxins in the body, to improve circulation and to improve conditions of the skin such as excema, psoriasis, and acne. These salts are also known to provide relief for those suffering from arthritic conditions and fibromyalgia.
The therapeutic benefits of the Dead Sea have been known since ancient times. Today, research has proven that Dead Sea bath salts are effective for use at home in alleviating skin diseases such as psoriasis, by treatment that can be administered at home using about 2 lbs. for each bath.
To obtain the benefits of these mineral salts where there is no particular therapy needed, then a couple of good handfuls of salt with each bath will provide a regular feast of minerals to the skin and the body.
Two lbs added to a lukewarm bath is recommended for therapeutic use. This temperature allows the body to absorb the minerals of the salts. Bathing in a hot bath causes the body to expel toxins, which is useful when a detox bath is desired.
A 20 to 30 minute bath is recommended to obtain the full benefits of the salt.
